Luthier Mauro Lucini
Violin maker Mauro Lucini and his workshop in San Michele Square in Cremona.
Cremonese violin maker Mauro Lucini is deeply rooted in the violin-making tradition of his hometown of Cremona: for more than 40 years the workshop at Piazza San Michele 7 has been the creative center of his work, a place imbued with his enthusiasm and love for the sound of the violin.
Building on the experience of his entire career as a craftsman and artist-which has earned him, among other things, recognition at the National Violinmaking Competition in Pisogne-he now devotes himself to a deeply felt concern: building beautiful, captivating-sounding instruments for passionate musicians and especially for young talents, giving them accessible access to the world of Italian stringed instruments. He is assisted in his work by two or three apprentices, who under his guidance mature in their craft and carry on the legacy of classical Cremonese violin making into the future.
Each instrument created within the ancient walls of Officina Mauro Lucini in Cremona is an individual musical personality, the character of which Maestro Lucini and his staff have elaborated and refined with dedication and fine craftsmanship.
